基于雙折射濾波效應的可調(diào)諧多波長摻鉺光纖激光器的研究

【摘要】:由于在高容量光纖通信、光學檢測以及光纖傳感等領(lǐng)域中的廣泛運用,近年來可調(diào)諧多波長摻鉺光纖激光器受到了研究者們的廣泛關(guān)注。然而,現(xiàn)有的可調(diào)諧多波長摻鉺光纖激光器通常借助梳狀濾波器的調(diào)諧性能來實現(xiàn)自身的調(diào)諧功能,存在調(diào)諧功能單一、多個參量控制交叉串擾和激光調(diào)諧可控性差等問題。為克服以上問題,本文提出了一種新型的可調(diào)諧多波長激光器,具備多個參量單獨調(diào)諧的功能。此外本文還分別從理論和實驗方面對多波長摻鉺光纖激光器的調(diào)諧性能進行研究,提出了可調(diào)諧激光器輸出特性的優(yōu)化方案,具體研究內(nèi)容如下:首先,利用雙折射濾波效應的調(diào)諧性能,本文提出了一種具有環(huán)路結(jié)構(gòu)的Lyot雙折射濾波器理論模型,利用瓊斯矩陣法分別對一階和二階Lyot雙折射濾波器的輸出特性進行了研究,并進行了數(shù)值仿真驗證。其次,本文提出并證明了一種新型的可調(diào)諧多波長激光器。其調(diào)諧功能是通過將功率對稱型非線性光纖環(huán)鏡引起的強度相干損耗效應與一階Lyot雙折射光纖濾波器引起的雙折射濾波效應相結(jié)合而實現(xiàn)。利用非線性光纖環(huán)鏡與Lyot雙折射濾波器在調(diào)諧功能上的互補性,實現(xiàn)了多輸出參量的單獨調(diào)諧。通過調(diào)節(jié)一階Lyot濾波器,能實現(xiàn)波峰位置在一個自由光譜區(qū)內(nèi)連續(xù)的精細調(diào)諧。而調(diào)節(jié)NOLM可實現(xiàn)光譜范圍的粗調(diào)諧功能,光譜最大移動量達到8 nm。同時,本文分別采用調(diào)節(jié)NOLM輸入光偏振態(tài)和控制泵浦功率兩種方式實現(xiàn)對波長數(shù)目的控制,最大波長數(shù)目高達18條。此系統(tǒng)具有較好的穩(wěn)定性,波長漂移低于0.06 nm,功率振蕩低于0.35 dB,且單波長的頻域信號中不存在高頻分量。另一方面,通過將以上系統(tǒng)中的濾波器替換為二階Lyot濾波器,還能對0.52 nm,0.78 nm和1.56 nm三種不同波長間隔進行切換,最終實現(xiàn)了波長間隔、波長數(shù)目、光譜范圍的三種單獨調(diào)諧功能。最后,本文對基于一階Lyot雙折射濾波器的激光系統(tǒng)進行進一步的性能優(yōu)化研究。通過分別調(diào)節(jié)摻鉺光纖、單模光纖及保偏光纖的長度,研究系統(tǒng)的調(diào)諧性能。當選擇摻鉺光纖長度為15 m,單模光纖長度為10 km,保偏光纖長度為8 m時,多波長激光器的輸出特性較好。
[Abstract]:In recent years, tunable multi-wavelength erbium-doped fiber lasers have been widely used in the fields of high-capacity optical fiber communication, optical detection and optical fiber sensing.However, the existing tunable multi-wavelength erbium-doped fiber lasers usually use the tuning performance of comb filters to realize their tuning function. There are many problems such as single tuning function, multi-parameter control crosstalk and poor tuning controllability.In order to overcome the above problems, a novel tunable multi-wavelength laser is proposed, which has the function of single tuning of multiple parameters.In addition, the tuning performance of multi-wavelength erbium-doped fiber laser is studied theoretically and experimentally, and the optimized scheme of output characteristics of tunable erbium-doped fiber laser is proposed. The specific research contents are as follows: first,Based on the tunability of birefringence filter effect, a theoretical model of Lyot birefringent filter with loop structure is proposed. The output characteristics of first-order and second-order Lyot birefringence filters are studied by Jones matrix method.Numerical simulation is carried out.Secondly, a novel tunable multi-wavelength laser is proposed and proved.The tuning function is realized by combining the intensity coherent loss effect caused by the power symmetric nonlinear fiber loop mirror with the birefringence filter effect caused by the first-order Lyot birefringent fiber filter.Using the complementarity of nonlinear fiber loop mirror and Lyot birefringent filter in tuning function, single tuning of multiple output parameters is realized.By adjusting the first order Lyot filter, the peak position can be tuned continuously in a free spectral region.The coarse tuning function of the spectrum range can be realized by adjusting the NOLM, and the maximum shift of the spectrum is up to 8 nm.At the same time, we control the number of wavelengths by adjusting the polarization state of the NOLM input light and controlling the pump power respectively. The maximum number of wavelengths is as high as 18.The system has good stability, the wavelength drift is less than 0.06 nm, the power oscillation is less than 0.35 dB, and there is no high frequency component in the single wavelength frequency domain signal.On the other hand, by replacing the filter in the above system with the second-order Lyot filter, we can switch between 0.52 nm 0.78 nm and 1.56 nm, and finally realize the wavelength interval and the number of wavelengths.Three individual tuning functions in the spectral range.Finally, the performance optimization of laser system based on first order Lyot birefringence filter is studied.The tuning performance of the system is studied by adjusting the length of erbium-doped fiber, single-mode fiber and polarization-maintaining fiber respectively.When the length of erbium-doped fiber is 15m, the length of single-mode fiber is 10km and the length of polarization maintaining fiber is 8m, the output characteristic of multi-wavelength laser is better.
