先前的調查已經通過對委內瑞拉和中國外交關系的分析探討了兩國之間的關系,其他的一些調查通過提供豐富的關于委內瑞拉每年石油產量（以桶計算）極其利潤的數(shù)據(jù),向我們表明了在這個領域上研究所取得的巨大進步。這個研究做出了對加勒比海國家和中國社會經濟現(xiàn)狀方面準確的理論預測,表明由于一系列委內瑞拉政府不英明的決定而造成的國內經濟現(xiàn)狀和不完善的行業(yè)發(fā)展阻止了亞洲國家在其經濟繁榮期一成指數(shù)增長時,去投資曾經經濟最強大的拉丁美洲國家。正是通過大量相關的分析,得出了對中國投資拉丁美洲國家有影響的因素,更準確的說研究其實是以委內瑞拉國內最大公因子（GCF）為主要變量,并以國家外債和國內生產總值（GDP）為第二主要變量。上述分析是基于2009-2013年的月數(shù)據(jù)進行的,為了確保準確性,還對數(shù)據(jù)做出了相應的季節(jié)性調整。統(tǒng)計結果證明委內瑞拉的經濟很顯著地受到中國外國直接投資（FDI）的影響。
