[Abstract]:From June to August 2012, Xinjiang Institute of Cultural relics and Archaeology carried out a salvage archaeological excavation of the Kizil Jiayi cemetery located in the inundated area of the reservoir in Aktao County, Kezilesu Autonomous Prefecture, in order to cooperate with the construction of the Artash Water Conservancy Project, the Xinjiang Institute of Cultural relics and Archaeology. A total of 102 ancient tombs were excavated and more than 100 cultural relics were unearthed. The cemetery of Kizl Gayi lies among the mountains deep in the Kunlun Mountains, at the confluence of the Yerqiang River and the Charon River.
