[Abstract]:For a long time, even within the Marxist camp, there have been different interpretations of the traditional proposition of historical materialism, the univariate determinism of productive forces, while outside the Marxist camp, There is a new Weber pluralism, represented by Michael Mann and others, which is opposite to the univariate determinism of productive forces. The latter argues that there are no decisive social areas (such as economic, economic, political, military, ideological power) that can play a decisive role. The essence of the difference between monism and pluralism is not only a dispute of views, but also a fundamental problem concerning the scientific nature of historical materialism.
