【摘要】：1961年,國(guó)際博物館協(xié)會(huì)將博物館(Museum)定義為"一個(gè)以研究、教育與欣賞為目的,來(lái)保存以及展示在文化及科學(xué)方面具有重要價(jià)值的對(duì)象的機(jī)構(gòu)"。1974年,國(guó)際博物館協(xié)會(huì)進(jìn)一步為博物館給出比較完整的定義:"不追求營(yíng)利,為社會(huì)和社會(huì)發(fā)展服務(wù),而且是向公眾開(kāi)放的永久性機(jī)構(gòu)。它為研究、教育和欣賞的目的,對(duì)人類和人類環(huán)境的物質(zhì)見(jiàn)證進(jìn)行了搜集、保護(hù)、研究、傳播與展覽。"增加的部分,著重強(qiáng)調(diào)了博物館的公共性、服務(wù)性、非營(yíng)利性以及以人為本的精神,這個(gè)定義基本沿襲至今。作為博物館一部分的美術(shù)館,自是在這個(gè)大概念之下的。中國(guó)目前對(duì)美術(shù)館還沒(méi)有嚴(yán)格意義上的定義,基本上是根據(jù)西方的美術(shù)館制度來(lái)經(jīng)營(yíng)和管理。那么以實(shí)體"美術(shù)館"為基礎(chǔ),還能衍生出更多空間意義上的美術(shù)館嗎?

Art galleries, which are part of museums, are naturally under this big concept. At present, there is no strict definition of art galleries in China.
